Post-congress tour
Location

We are pleased to announce the possibility to take part in post-congress tour organized on two days after the conference (12th – 13th October 2022). Post-congress tour will start on Wednesday after official scientific programme.
You can find the list of recommended sights below – we will select the final itinerary together according to your interests, possibilities and weather. Alternatively, we could split post-congress tour into two parallel “trips” – one for more hiking focused, second for those more focused on historical sights.

Bus will take us on a circuit to see the historical sights of Spiš region with its UNESCO World Heritage Sites (all sites are closer than 70 km to the hotel):
Spišský hrad (Spiš castle) – ruins of one of the largest medieval castles by area in Europe
Levoča – medieval town with the carver Master Paul`s works inside Basilica of St. James – interior decorated with several gothic altars including his masterpiece – world’s tallest gothic altar at 18.62 metres
Žehra – picturesque small gothic church from 13th century decorated with well preserved set of frescoes including tree of life – telling the story of Bible in one wall painting full of symbols.

Natural jewels and hikes – selected according to demands, fitness level of participants and weather conditions:
High Tatras hikes (directly from hotel Patria):
Mengusovska valley with Veľké Hincove pleso – the largest mountain lake in High Tatras (5 hours hike in total) with a possibility to hike even higher – up to Rysy (2499 m above sea level, on Polish-Slovak borded, also the highest point of Poland, mountain hut open below its top, plus 2 hours) or Kôprovský štít (2363 m, a bit less demanding hike, beautiful view too, plus 2 hours) or Ostrva (1980m, easiest peak arround Štrbské pleso, less than 3 hours up, first half flat) – sturdy shoes necessary, trekking poles recommended
Surroundings:
